Notifications, the second component, is the integration module that sends information about deliveries and collections to consignees, along with ETA status updates to consignors. This can include expected date, expected time slot, confirmation of delivery, confirmation of safe place delivery, ability to redirect deliveries to alternative day or location.
Experience, the third component, is the consumer web portal that delivers control to the consumer, allowing them to manage more aspects of their delivery experience. Delivered using a responsive CSS website design the Consumer Portal is optimized for Smartphone and Tablet devices while also accessible via typical desktop or laptop access.
In addition to seeing the very latest status of expected deliveries consumers who have set up their profile are able to set up preferences for delivery, including preferred neighbor, preferred safe place, personalization of delivery names and the ability to divert parcels in flight.
Expect improves the overall relationship between the supplier and the customer by enabling an active two-way communication and real-time route optimization on the handheld. The customer can limit the amount of time they need to wait for a delivery, while receiving regular text and email communication of any unexpected delays. This allows the customer to interact directly with the delivery driver to divert or reschedule deliveries, in turn, giving the consumer greater control over their deliveries.

Delivery Connect is built on Blackbay's logistics application framework. The framework Mobile Workforce Management Software makes it easy for customers to hit the ground running with the deployment of pre-configured applications. However, Blackbay understands that one size does not always fit all. The new Mobile Workforce Management platform allows Blackbay’s customers quickly, within hours rather than days, to configure changes to Delivery Connect’s T&L applications ensuring that they meet specific business processes.
Blackbay’s logistics platform has been developed so that screens, process flows and logic are driven by configuration and can be deployed at runtime. Another important ease of use capability allows users quickly and seamlessly to switch between applications. To ensure customers can deploy Delivery Connect applications on the mobile device of their choice, Blackbay’s new platform is mobile device agnostic. It delivers platform specific user interfaces (UIs) so applications can run on iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms delivering the same user experience, regardless of OS or device and irrespective of whether the device has been supplied by Blackbay’s customer, or is part of a BYOD approach.
